Welcome to KD Dance
We are a Latin dance school based in Auckland, specialising in salsa and bachata classes, events, choreographies and teams. With over 20 years of dance experience, we are the current New Zealand semipro bachata couples champions and have multiple gold medals in both partnerwork and shines for salsa and bachata.
Our goal is transmitting our love and passion for social dancing, helping people to improve their dance skills, body movement, confidence, and connection. Come to join our classes, meet new people and have an amazing time, no partner required. Your journey through Latin dance is just starting.
COMMUNITY CLASSES
Weekly open level - Koha donation
Want to give Latin dance a go? Can’t decide which style to choose from? We’ve got you covered with our new open level, community classes. Each week we will alternate between Bachata, Cuban Salsa, Mambo & Shines. This class is open to everyone, all ages (families bring the kids if you want), genders and abilities - no partner required.
This is a "pay what you can - koha donation" class, eftpos or cash available at the studio.

Bachata Shines Team
It’s showtime baby! Have you ever wanted to strut your stuff on stage or build your confidence to get up there and give it a go?
We are thrilled to announce we will be running a bachata shines (feminine style) team for the first time! This team will train over 12 weeks to learn an original choreography with Katie - second place World Salsa Solo Bachata Soloist.
Come to our info night to find out more and get a taste of the choreography - Monday 14th of July at 8:30pm ($10).
Team details:
- Trainings on Mondays - 8:30-9:30pm
- Cost: $300 for 12 hours of training + choreography

NZ Bachata Couples Team
Do you want to join the KD Dance bachata couples team for term two?
After successful performances at New Zealand Salsa Congress and World Bachata Festival Melbourne, we are opening spots up to join our choreography of “TNSVJ”. With opportunities to perform and compete in events across New Zealand.
Come to our info night to find out more and get a taste of the choreography - Sunday 20th of July at 6pm ($10).
Team details:
- Trainings on Sundays - 6-7pm
- Cost: $300 for 12 hours of training + choreography
10% discount for KD Dance Members and those in multiple teams
- Improver - Intermediate level
- Performance and competition opportunity in NZ, including the New Zealand Latin Dance Championships in Auckland.
World Salsa Solo Bachata Couples Team
Are you ready for to challenge yourself and level up your bachata?
For the second time, KD Dance will be taking a bachata team to compete against the Aussies at the World Salsa Solo in December 2025. Taking place in the tropical paradise of the Gold Coast, this competition and festival is the highlight of our year.
Come to our info night to find out more and get a taste of the choreography - Sunday 20th of July at 7pm ($10).
Team details:
- Trainings on Sundays - 7-8pm
- Cost: $300 for 12 hours of training + choreography
10% discount for KD Dance Members and those in multiple teams
- Intermediate - Advanced level
- You must be going to World Salsa Solo to be in this team
- Katie & David reserve the right to decide who will be in the team.
